about us
Mission: Working to provide empowerment opportunities to young ladies and young men in the community.
The Miss Caribbean US is a 501(c)(3) organization, that was founded by Yolanda Wallace in 2000. After joining the organization in 2010, Denise Pavlin along with Ms. Wallace have dedicated their time to the success of the organization by wearing many hats. Since accepting the position as President of the organization in 2019, Ms. Pavlin has taken full force to grow this organization to make sure that the vision, mission, and goals are aligned with what the organization stands for which is working to provide empowerment opportunities to young ladies and young men in the community, who are charity driven, with a passion to proudly represent the arts and culture of their countries including the United States, and to become positive role models in society.
The pageant is a fundraiser that provides a platform for participants to gain valuable experience which can boost their confidence. It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for young ladies to display their skills in front of a global audience.
Our request for public support is aimed at ensuring the continued success and sustainability of our organization. With this funding, we will be able to sustain and enhance our core programs and activities, including:
Pageant Preparation and Training: We offer comprehensive training programs that empower contestants with skills such as public speaking, personal branding, cultural awareness, and community engagement. This support will help cover costs associated with professional trainers, workshops, and materials.
Event Production: We organize an annual beauty pageant event that showcases the talent, intelligence, and beauty of young Caribbean women. Your support will contribute to venue rentals, staging, lighting, sound equipment, and event promotion.
Community Outreach and Cultural Exchange: We actively engage within the community by organizing cultural events, workshops, and community service initiatives. Funding will enable us to expand our outreach efforts and strengthen partnerships with local organizations to foster cultural exchange and community engagement.
Scholarships and Education Support: We believe in investing in the educational aspirations of our contestants. Your support will help establish scholarships and educational programs that assist participants in pursuing higher education and career advancement.
The desired results we intend to achieve through these activities: Empowering Young Women: We aim to empower young Caribbean women by providing them with a platform to showcase their talents, promoting self-confidence, leadership skills, and personal development.
Cultural Preservation: Our organization celebrates and promotes Caribbean culture, fostering cultural exchange and understanding within our community.
Community Engagement: We actively engage with the local community through various outreach initiatives, encouraging volunteerism, and supporting community development efforts. (Mentorship, Etiquette, Dance Classes, and Steelpan Initiative).
