Jolie Curbin, Miss Caribbean US Teen 2022, has had an incredible journey over the past year. From the moment she was crowned, she felt a surge of excitement and anticipation. Her parents and auntie-ger Patrina played a significant role in shaping her perspective, reminding her that the crown and sash were not just symbols of victory, but opportunities for growth and service.

During her tenure as Miss Caribbean US Teen, Jolie's main goal was to empower girls of color to embrace their skin and bodies with confidence and grace. She achieved this by raising awareness of cultural diversity through various events and activities. One notable experience was witnessing the Inaugural Flag Raising and the lighting of the Empire State Building in the colors of St. Vincent and the Grenadines national flag. Jolie also had the honor of being a guest at the Council of St. Vincent and the Grenadines (COSAGO) Independence Gala, where she represented her country with pride.

Jolie's dedication to service was evident as she volunteered at Cradle to Crayons and Penns Relay, and worked with numerous non-profit organizations in Philadelphia. She also traveled to different states to attend various Caribbean festivals and carnivals, where she had the opportunity to feed the homeless and engage with local communities. Additionally, Jolie attended several fashion shows, including the International Lithuanian Fashion Show of Philadelphia and the MadiareK Design Juneteenth Fashion Show. She was also present at important ceremonies such as the Team Jamaica Bickle PECO Ceremony, Odunde Festival, Philadelphia Juneteenth, and Acana VIP Ceremony and Flag Raising, which honored Dr. Opal Lee, known as "The Godmother of Juneteenth."

In addition to her philanthropic efforts, Jolie had the chance to explore the beauty and tranquility of St. Vincent and the Grenadines during a vacation. She even made a guest appearance at the Miss SVG Teen Pageant, further solidifying her connection to her roots.

Throughout her journey, Jolie learned the value of hard work, sisterhood, and patience. Attending luncheons, galas, pageants, festivals, and other events allowed her to make lasting friendships and witness the love that people have for their countries and islands. She realized that it truly takes a village to raise a family, and she is grateful for the support and guidance she received along the way.

Jolie expresses her deepest gratitude to her parents for their kindness, wisdom, and resilience. They have been her pillars of strength and have encouraged her in ways they may never fully comprehend. She also thanks her auntie-ger Patrina for always going above and beyond, ensuring she had everything she needed and providing a source of cheer and support. Jolie acknowledges her cousins, Hope Prince and Nadia Browne, for being her rocks and sources of encouragement.
